Something to do about ED
Plumber's Helper So now you've seen your doctor, and fixed up your wife with a little tenderness, let's work on the plumbing. We'll see if we can't get your little soldier standing up at attention. Perhaps we need a little bit of medical science to come to our aid here. An erection will occur when your imagination or senses (sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste) are stimulated and you become aroused. Your central nervous signal sends impulses to increase blood flow to the penis, and this blood fills the spongy chambers (corpora cavernosa) in the penis, causing it to expand and become rigid. There are obviously things that need to happen for this 'spontaneous erection', such as a. an adequately operating nervous system to send the appropriate signals to your penis, b. an intact system of blood vessels (vascular system) to get the blood in and out of the penis, c. normal smooth muscle in the penis, which has to relax to allow the penis to fill with blood and enlarge, and d. the ability to trap the blood in the penis so it remains rigid. You've seen the doctor, and he's ruled out things like an injury, or prostrate or other surgery that interferes with the nerve impulses or blood flow to the penis. He's run the gamut of tests, and probably has sent you home with a prescription for Viagra or Cyalis or similar pills as recommended to him by his rep at the pharmaceutical company. Panax Ginseng is a traditional Asian remedy for almost anything, most notably (and desirably in this case) for increasing protein activity and neurotransmitter activity in the brain, which of course, will send the appropriate signals to the penis. Red Korean ginseng is reportedly better for erectile difficulties than other varieties. There have been actual studies where male rats were fed ginseng supplements for sixty days and their testosterone levels rose. Another study showed ginseng supplemented rats mated more often than other healthy males who did not receive the supplements. My own personal experience has been that I'm more disappointed when by chance my husband's ginseng supply runs out. |
